Description:
Feropenem 100 mg is an orally active broad-spectrum carbapenem antibiotic used in the treatment of various bacterial infections, including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and gynecological infections. It belongs to the β-lactam class of antibiotics and exerts its effect by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death.
Feropenem is known for its stability against β-lactamase enzymes, making it effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including some resistant strains. It offers excellent oral bioavailability, which makes it a convenient alternative to intravenous carbapenems in mild to moderate infections.
