Chemotherapy Induced Nausea & Vomiting (CINV), Radiotherapy Induced Nausea & Vomiting (RINV), Post Operative Nausea & Vomiting (PONV).

Description:

Ondansetron 2mg is a selective 5-HT3 receptor antagonist used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and postoperative recovery. It works by blocking serotonin, a natural substance that triggers vomiting reflexes in the brain and gut.

Usage Information

Dosage

For Children (6 months to 12 years): 0.1–0.15 mg/kg every 8 hours (as prescribed) Ondansetron 2mg syrup: commonly 5 ml per dose depending on weight Adults: Typically 4–8mg every 8–12 hours (higher doses used for chemo-induced vomiting) Route: Oral Timing: Best taken 30 minutes before food or treatment
