Description:
Omeprazole 20mg is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach. It is used to treat a variety of acid-related gastrointestinal conditions, including gastric ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and erosive esophagitis. Omeprazole works by blocking the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system of the gastric parietal cells.

Usage Information
Dosage
Usual Adult Dose: 20mg once daily For ulcers: May be taken for 4–8 weeks For GERD: Often continued for several weeks or months Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew Take 30–60 minutes before food

Contraindications
Do NOT use if: You are allergic to Omeprazole or other PPIs You are taking rilpivirine (HIV medication) You have severe liver disease (caution advised) You have unexplained weight loss, vomiting, or GI bleeding – consult a doctor before use
