Sertaconazole 2% is a topical antifungal formulation used for treating superficial fungal infections of the skin such as tinea corporis (ringworm), tinea cruris (jock itch), and tinea pedis (athlete’s foot). It belongs to the imidazole class of antifungals and works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, a vital component of fungal cell membranes, resulting in fungal cell death.
Sertaconazole also possesses anti-inflammatory and antipruritic properties, providing relief from itching, redness, and discomfort associated with fungal infections. It is available in cream or lotion base, suitable for various skin types and easy to apply.
