Description:
Lorazepam 1mg is a prescription benzodiazepine used for the short-term management of anxiety disorders, insomnia, status epilepticus, and pre-operative sedation. It works by enhancing the effects of GABA, a calming neurotransmitter in the brain, leading to anxiolytic, hypnotic, anticonvulsant, and muscle relaxant properties. Lorazepam is fast-acting and suitable for acute episodes of anxiety or panic.

Usage Information
Dosage
Adults (Anxiety): 1–3 mg/day in divided doses Insomnia: 1–2 mg at bedtime Max dose: Not to exceed 10 mg/day Use short-term only (2–4 weeks) under medical supervision Do not stop suddenly to avoid withdrawal symptoms

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to benzodiazepines Severe respiratory insufficiency Myasthenia gravis Narrow-angle glaucoma Pregnancy and breastfeeding (Category D – not recommended)
