Description:
Racecadotril 15 mg is an antisecretory antidiarrheal medication used in the treatment of acute diarrhea, particularly in children. Unlike traditional antidiarrheals, it works by reducing excessive secretion of water and electrolytes in the intestine, without affecting intestinal motility, thereby maintaining natural bowel movement while reducing fluid loss.

Usage Information
Dosage
Children aged 3 months to 12 years: 1.5 mg/kg per dose every 8 hours, usually up to 3 days Best administered shortly before meals Should be used along with oral rehydration salts (ORS) Always follow pediatrician's dosing recommendations.
