Indication:

Acute Bacterial Sinusitis, Recurrent Pharyngitis & Tonsillitis, Acute Otitis Media, Pneumonia & Bronchitis, Skin & Soft Tissue Infections, Urinary Tract

Description:

Cefuroxime 125 mg is a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used in the treatment of a variety of bacterial infections in children. It is available as a dry syrup that needs to be reconstituted with sterile water for injection (WFI) provided with the pack.

It is effective against infections of the:

  • Respiratory tract (tonsillitis, pharyngitis, sinusitis, pneumonia)

  • Ear (otitis media)

  • Urinary tract

  • Skin and soft tissues

Usage Information

Dosage

Children (per body weight): 10–15 mg/kg body weight twice daily Reconstitute the dry syrup using the provided WFI (usually to 30 mL) Shake well before each use Use the provided measuring device to ensure accurate dosing Complete the full course even if symptoms improve early Dosage and duration must be prescribed by a pediatrician.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or penicillins History of severe allergic reaction to β-lactam antibiotics Use with caution in children with kidney problems
