Indication:
Treatment of post-operative nausea and vomiting in adults. Nausea and vomiting associated with initial and repeat courses of emetogenic cancer therapy, including high-dose cisplatin. Nausea and vomiting associated with radiation.
Description:
Granisetron 1 mg is a selective 5-HT3 receptor antagonist used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery. It works by blocking serotonin receptors in the brain and gastrointestinal tract, which are responsible for triggering nausea and vomiting reflexes.
This injectable formulation offers rapid onset and is ideal for hospital and clinical settings, especially during oncology or postoperative care.

Usage Information
Dosage
Route: Intravenous (IV) or Intramuscular (IM) injection Adult (chemo/radio-induced N/V): 1 mg once or twice daily, usually before therapy Postoperative nausea/vomiting (PONV): 1 mg as a single dose before anesthesia or surgery Pediatric use: Dose based on body weight (approx. 20–40 mcg/kg), consult physician Always follow hospital or physician-specific guidelines May be diluted and infused slowly over 5 minutes

Contraindications
