Composition:

Cefixime & Potassium Clavulanate Oral Suspension

Indication:

for treating bacterial infections such as respiratory tract infections (including bronchitis, sinusitis, and pharyngitis), and urinary tract infections in pediatric patients.

Description:

This broad-spectrum antibiotic oral suspension combines Cefixime, a third-generation cephalosporin, with Potassium Clavulanate, a beta-lactamase inhibitor. It is formulated for pediatric use to treat a wide range of bacterial infections, especially resistant strains affecting the respiratory, urinary, and gastrointestinal tracts.

Usage Information

Dosage

Infants & Children (6 months to 12 years): Dose as per body weight: Usually 8-10 mg/kg/day in divided doses Reconstitute the dry powder with provided WFI as per label Shake well before each use Use within 5–7 days of reconstitution Administer after meals to reduce gastrointestinal upset

Side Effects

Mild: Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, rash Rare: Allergic reactions, pseudomembranous colitis Notify the doctor if side effects persist or worsen

Contraindications

Known allergy to cephalosporins or penicillins History of severe liver disease Not recommended in neonates unless prescribed
