Description:

Febuxostat 40mg** is a xanthine oxidase inhibitor used primarily for the management of chronic hyperuricemia in conditions such as gout. It works by lowering uric acid levels in the blood, thereby preventing gout flares, joint pain, and inflammation caused by urate crystal deposits. Febuxostat is often prescribed when allopurinol is not tolerated or contraindicated.

Usage Information

Dosage

Usual adult dose: 40mg once daily May be increased to 80mg daily if uric acid remains high Take with or without food Hydration is advised to prevent kidney stones
