Description:
Calcium Polystyrene Sulphonate is a cation-exchange resin used to treat hyperkalemia (high blood potassium levels). It works by exchanging calcium ions for potassium ions in the intestines, promoting potassium elimination through feces. Commonly used in patients with chronic kidney disease, it helps maintain electrolyte balance when the kidneys are unable to filter excess potassium effectively.
This formulation is in powder form, ideal for oral or rectal administration under medical supervision.
