Tolvaptan 15mg

Indication:

In Treatment of Low levels of sodium in the blood, Low levels of sodium may be caused due to multiple reasons such as excess of body fluids, heart disease.

Description:

Tolvaptan 15 mg** is a vasopressin V2 receptor antagonist used to treat conditions involving fluid retention and low sodium levels, primarily:

  • Hyponatremia (low blood sodium) associated with Syndrome of Inappropriate Antidiuretic Hormone Secretion - SIADH, heart failure, or cirrhosis.

  • Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD) to slow kidney function decline and reduce kidney volume.

Tolvaptan promotes aquaresis—excretion of free water without electrolyte loss—by blocking vasopressin activity, thereby increasing serum sodium levels and managing fluid overload.
