MRP: 1,990
Packaging: 400mg
Pack Type: injection
Composition:
Teicoplanin IP 400mg
Indication:
This allows holes in the bacterial cell wall, which kills the bacteria. Thus, helps in treating and preventing the spread of infections
Description:
Teicoplanin IP 400 mg is a broad-spectrum glycopeptide antibiotic indicated for the treatment of severe Gram-positive bacterial infections, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Enterococcus species. It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, ultimately leading to bacterial cell death.
It is used as an alternative to Vancomycin due to its longer half-life, lower nephrotoxicity, and once-daily dosing regimen. It is effective against:
MRSA infections
Bloodstream infections (septicemia, bacteremia)
Respiratory tract infections
Bone and joint infections
Skin and soft tissue infections
Endocarditis
Post-surgical and ICU-acquired infections
Teicoplanin can be administered intravenously (IV) or intramuscularly (IM).

- Suitable for IV and IM use
- Can be used in outpatient and hospital settings
