Description:
Clarithromycin 500 mg is a macrolide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis, effectively stopping bacterial growth. It is used for treating moderate to severe infections caused by susceptible organisms, including both typical and atypical pathogens.
Clarithromycin 500 mg is particularly effective for:
Lower and upper respiratory tract infections (e.g., pneumonia, bronchitis, tonsillitis)
Sinusitis and pharyngitis
Skin and soft tissue infections
Mycobacterial infections in immunocompromised patients
H. pylori eradication (as part of triple therapy for ulcers)

Dosage
Adults: 500 mg twice daily for 7–14 days (as prescribed) For H. pylori: Used in combination with other drugs Take with or without food Swallow whole with water Complete the full course even if symptoms improve early
