Ceftazidime 2000mg + Avibactam 500mg

Indication:

To treat abdominal (stomach area) infections. It is also used to treat pneumonia that developed in people who are on ventilators or who were in a hospital, and kidney and urinary tract infections.

Description:

Ceftazidime 2000mg + Avibactam 500mg is a combination of a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic (Ceftazidime) and a non-β-lactam β-lactamase inhibitor (Avibactam). This powerful combination is used to treat complex, multidrug-resistant gram-negative bacterial infections. It is especially effective in treating hospital-acquired pneumonia, complicated intra-abdominal infections, and complicated urinary tract infections caused by resistant strains, including Enterobacteriaceae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Avibactam enhances the effectiveness of Ceftazidime by inhibiting bacterial β-lactamase enzymes that would normally inactivate the antibiotic, thus extending its spectrum against resistant organisms.
