Description:
Amikacin Sulphate 100mg/2ml Injection is a broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic used in the treatment of severe gram-negative bacterial infections and some gram-positive infections. It is highly effective against organisms resistant to other antibiotics and works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, leading to cell death.
This lower-dose formulation is ideal for pediatric use, renal-adjusted doses, and initial titration in sensitive patients. It is administered either intramuscularly (IM) or intravenously (IV) in hospital settings.

Dosage
Route: Intramuscular or slow intravenous injection/infusion Adults: 15 mg/kg/day in 2–3 divided doses Children: 15–20 mg/kg/day in divided doses Neonates/Infants: Adjusted by weight and renal function Note: Dose adjustment is necessary in renal impairment. Always administer under medical supervision.
