Description:
Rabeprazole 20 mg Injection is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that suppresses gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the H⁺/K⁺ ATPase enzyme system at the secretory surface of gastric parietal cells. This reduces stomach acidity, helping to treat conditions like gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and erosive esophagitis.
It is primarily used when oral administration is not feasible, such as in critically ill patients or those with severe gastroesophageal conditions requiring rapid acid suppression.
