Description:
Ondansetron 2 mg/ml Injection is a selective 5-HT3 receptor antagonist that prevents nausea and vomiting caused by:
Chemotherapy (CINV)
Radiotherapy (RINV)
Post-operative recovery (PONV)
It works by blocking serotonin receptors in the brain and gastrointestinal tract, which are responsible for triggering vomiting. Ondansetron provides rapid relief and is often used in hospitals prior to and after procedures that carry a high emetic risk.
This dosage is typically provided in 2 ml ampoules (4 mg total dose), for intravenous (IV) or intramuscular (IM) use.
