Description:
Ceftriaxone Sodium 2000 mg is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used for treating severe or complicated bacterial infections. It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death. The 2g strength is often reserved for high-risk cases or when higher serum concentrations are needed.
Indications include:
Severe pneumonia
Bacterial meningitis
Intra-abdominal infections
Skin and soft tissue infections
Gonorrhea
Bone and joint infections
Sepsis
Surgical prophylaxis in high-risk surgeries

Usage Information
Dosage
Route: IV or IM administration only. Adults: 2g once daily or 1g every 12 hours depending on infection severity. Meningitis: May require 4g/day in divided doses. Surgical prophylaxis: Single 2g dose before incision in select cases. Important: Dosage must be adjusted in renal/hepatic impairment and determined by a qualified physician.

Contraindications
