Description:
Sucralfate 1 g is a gastroprotective agent used for the treatment and prevention of peptic ulcers, gastritis, and mucosal irritation in the stomach and duodenum. Sucralfate acts locally by forming a protective barrier over ulcer sites, shielding them from stomach acid, bile salts, and enzymes, thereby promoting healing.
Sucralfate is not absorbed systemically; it works locally in the GI tract, making it a safe and effective treatment for various types of ulcers, including those caused by NSAIDs or stress. It may also be used in cases of GERD and oral or esophageal ulcers.
