Description:
Rabeprazole 20 mg (Enteric Coated) + Itopride 150 mg (Sustained Release) is a synergistic combination formulated for the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), functional dyspepsia, bloating, and acid-related motility disorders.
Rabeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), works by suppressing stomach acid secretion by blocking the H⁺/K⁺ ATPase enzyme in gastric parietal cells. Its enteric-coated form ensures it is released in the intestine, protecting it from stomach acid.
Itopride, a gastroprokinetic agent, enhances gastric motility and accelerates gastric emptying by inhibiting dopamine D2 receptors and acetylcholinesterase activity. The sustained-release formulation ensures extended action throughout the day.
This dual-action combination is especially effective in relieving reflux, bloating, nausea, early satiety, and postprandial fullness.
