Gastrointestinal selective antibiotic Work in the Digestive Tract by Killing the BACTERIA
Description:
Rifaximin BP 200 mg + Metronidazole 400 mg is a potent combination antibiotic therapy used to treat a broad range of gastrointestinal infections. Rifaximin, a non-absorbable rifamycin derivative, acts locally in the intestines by inhibiting bacterial RNA synthesis. Metronidazole is a nitroimidazole antibiotic effective against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa. Together, they provide broad-spectrum coverage for mixed bacterial infections such as amoebic dysentery, colitis, traveler’s diarrhea, and infectious diarrhea. The synergy of both antibiotics targets both aerobic and anaerobic organisms, improving treatment efficacy and reducing relapse rates.
