Rifaximin 200mg
Indication:
Non-Invasive Travelers Diarrhea, Hepatic Encephalopathy
Description:
Rifaximin 200 mg is an oral antibiotic that works by stopping the growth of bacteria in the gut. It is primarily used to treat traveler's diarrhea caused by non-invasive strains of Escherichia coli (E. coli), hepatic encephalopathy by reducing the production of ammonia in the gut, and irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea (IBS-D). Unlike systemic antibiotics, Rifaximin acts locally in the intestines, minimizing the risk of systemic side effects. It is poorly absorbed into the bloodstream, making it highly effective for gastrointestinal infections and disorders.
