Description:
Itopride 50 mg is a prokinetic agent used to treat gastrointestinal motility disorders such as functional dyspepsia and gastroesophageal reflux (GERD). It enhances gastric emptying and intestinal movement by increasing acetylcholine action in the GI tract. Itopride acts through both dopamine D2 receptor antagonism and acetylcholinesterase inhibition, promoting coordinated GI movement and reducing symptoms like bloating, nausea, early satiety, and discomfort after meals.
Itopride is particularly effective in patients with non-ulcer dyspepsia, delayed gastric emptying, and post-meal fullness.
