Sodium Picosulfate 5 mg is a stimulant laxative used for the treatment of constipation and for bowel evacuation before diagnostic procedures like colonoscopy. It works by stimulating the bowel muscles (peristalsis), which increases intestinal motility and facilitates stool passage.
It is generally administered orally at bedtime, providing relief within 6 to 12 hours. Sodium Picosulfate is often preferred for its predictable action, gentle effect, and low risk of cramping when used appropriately.
