Description:

Tobramycin 0.3% w/v Ophthalmic Solution is a sterile, topical antibiotic formulation used to treat external bacterial infections of the eye. Tobramycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, leading to the death of susceptible bacteria. It is especially effective against Gram-negative organisms and some Gram-positive bacteria.

This formulation is commonly prescribed for:

  • Bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye)

  • Blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelids)

  • Corneal ulcers (as part of combination therapy)

  • Other superficial ocular infections caused by tobramycin-sensitive organisms

It is suitable for both adults and children, under medical supervision.

Usage Information

Dosage

Instill 1 to 2 drops into the affected eye(s) every 4 to 6 hours or as directed by a physician. In severe infections, dosing may be increased to every 2 hours. Continue treatment for the full prescribed course, even if symptoms improve.
