Description:
Teneligliptin 20mg is an oral antidiabetic drug used in the management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. It belongs to the Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor class of medications. By inhibiting the DPP-4 enzyme, Teneligliptin increases the levels of incretin hormones (GLP-1 and GIP), which enhance insulin secretion and suppress glucagon production in a glucose-dependent manner.
This dual mechanism helps in effectively controlling fasting and postprandial blood glucose without significant risk of hypoglycemia or weight gain. It is suitable as monotherapy or in combination with other oral antidiabetics such as Metformin, Sulfonylureas, or insulin.
