Description:
This tablet is a combination of Sitagliptin 50mg, a DPP-4 inhibitor, and Metformin Hydrochloride 500mg, a biguanide-class oral antidiabetic. It is used for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet, exercise, and monotherapy are not sufficient.
Sitagliptin enhances incretin levels, improving insulin secretion and reducing glucagon release.
Metformin reduces hepatic glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity in muscle cells.
Together, they provide a dual mechanism of action that effectively controls both fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels.
Tags:

- Targets insulin secretion and resistance
- Low risk of hypoglycemia when used alone
- Weight neutral or modest weight loss
- Effective for long-term type 2 diabetes management
