Description:

This fixed-dose combination tablet contains Glimepiride 3 mg, a sulfonylurea, and Metformin Hydrochloride 1000 mg in sustained-release (SR) form. It is designed for advanced glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus who are not adequately controlled with lower-dose therapies or monotherapy.

  • Glimepiride promotes insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells, helping to reduce elevated blood glucose, especially postprandially.

  • Metformin SR works by decreasing hepatic glucose production, increasing insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues, and slowing glucose absorption in the intestines. The SR formulation allows prolonged release, improving gastrointestinal tolerance and offering better control throughout the day.

Usage Information

Dosage
