Description:
This combination tablet contains Glimepiride 2 mg, a sulfonylurea, and Metformin Hydrochloride 500 mg (Sustained Release), a biguanide, used together to effectively manage type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Glimepiride helps increase insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells, helping to lower blood sugar quickly.
Metformin SR works by decreasing hepatic glucose production, reducing intestinal glucose absorption, and improving insulin sensitivity.
The sustained-release (SR) formulation ensures gradual absorption of Metformin, providing prolonged blood glucose control and reduced gastrointestinal side effects. This fixed-dose combination is ideal for patients who are not adequately controlled with monotherapy.

Dosage
Usual dose: One tablet once daily with food Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew Avoid skipping meals to reduce risk of hypoglycemia Dose may be modified by your healthcare provider based on blood glucose levels
