SUGAMIDE-M-1

MRP: 735

Packaging: 10x15

Pack Type: tablet

Composition:

Glimepiride 1mg + Metformin 500mg (Bi Layer Tablet) (In SR)

Indication:

Metformin and glimepiride simultaneously targets insulin resistance and insulin deficiency in type 2 diabetes

Description:

This formulation combines Glimepiride 1 mg and Metformin Hydrochloride 500 mg in a bi-layer sustained release (SR) tablet, designed for effective and long-lasting glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

  • Glimepiride, a sulfonylurea, acts quickly to stimulate insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells.

  • Metformin, a biguanide, works by reducing hepatic glucose production and increasing insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues.

The bi-layer SR formulation ensures a dual-release mechanism: immediate release of Glimepiride for rapid onset of action and sustained release of Metformin for extended glucose control, improving therapeutic effectiveness and patient compliance.

This fixed-dose combination is recommended for patients not adequately controlled on monotherapy.
