for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults to improve glycemic control, especially when diet, exercise, and monotherapy are insufficient.

Description:

Sitagliptin 100mg + Metformin 1000mg Sustained Release (SR) is a combination oral anti-diabetic medication used for the management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in adults. This dual-action formula helps improve blood sugar control by targeting multiple pathways involved in glucose regulation.

  • Sitagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor that enhances the body’s natural incretin hormones. It increases insulin release and decreases glucagon levels in a glucose-dependent manner.

  • Metformin SR is a biguanide that reduces hepatic glucose production, decreases intestinal glucose absorption, and improves insulin sensitivity.

The Sustained Release (SR) technology of Metformin ensures gradual drug release, providing prolonged glucose control with reduced gastrointestinal side effects compared to immediate-release formulations.

This combination is commonly prescribed when diet, exercise, and single-drug therapy are not sufficient to maintain optimal glycemic control. It helps reduce HbA1c levels, fasting plasma glucose, and postprandial blood glucose levels.
