Indication:

Patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, to reduce the risk of CV death and hospitalization for heart failure, Patients with T2D with eCVD or multiple CV risk factors, to reduce the risk of hospitalization for heart failure

Description:

Dapagliflozin 10 mg + Metformin 500 mg ER is a fixed-dose combination oral medication used in the management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. It combines two antidiabetic agents with complementary mechanisms:

  • Dapagliflozin is an SGLT2 inhibitor that lowers blood glucose by promoting its excretion in urine via the kidneys.

  • Metformin (Extended Release) improves insulin sensitivity and reduces hepatic glucose production, offering sustained blood sugar control over time.

This combination not only aids in achieving target glycemic levels but also provides additional benefits like weight reduction, blood pressure control, and cardio-renal protection. It is often prescribed when monotherapy is insufficient for optimal blood sugar control.

Usage Information

Dosage

Recommended Dose: One tablet daily or as prescribed Should be taken with meals to reduce GI upset Swallow whole; do not crush or chew Take consistently at the same time each day Do not skip or double dose without consulting your doctor
