Description:
Telmisartan 40mg + Chlorthalidone 12.5mg is a fixed-dose combination medication used to manage hypertension (high blood pressure). Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels by blocking the action of a hormone that causes them to narrow. Chlorthalidone is a thiazide-like diuretic that helps reduce blood pressure by eliminating excess salt and water from the body. Together, this combination provides a synergistic effect to lower blood pressure more effectively than either agent alone, reducing the risk of cardiovascular events like heart attacks and strokes.

Dosage

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to Telmisartan, Chlorthalidone, or sulfonamides Severe kidney or liver impairment Anuria (no urine production) Pregnancy or breastfeeding Concurrent use of aliskiren in diabetic patients
