Description:
Ranolazine 500mg ER is an anti-anginal medication used to treat chronic stable angina (chest pain). It works by improving blood flow to help the heart work more efficiently without increasing heart rate or blood pressure. Unlike traditional anti-anginals, Ranolazine targets the late phase of the sodium current in heart muscle cells, which helps reduce intracellular calcium overload and thereby improves myocardial relaxation and oxygen use. It is usually prescribed when angina is not adequately controlled with other medications like beta-blockers or calcium channel blockers.

Usage Information
Dosage
Standard dose: 500mg twice daily (ER tablets) Swallow tablet whole; do not crush or chew May be taken with or without food Dose may be increased to 1000mg twice daily as per doctor’s advice Follow prescribed dose strictly to avoid side effects

Contraindications
