Description:
Losartan Potassium 25 mg is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) used for the management of hypertension (high blood pressure) and protection of kidneys in patients with type 2 diabetes and proteinuria. It works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a natural chemical that narrows blood vessels. By preventing this action, Losartan helps relax blood vessels, lower blood pressure, and reduce the workload on the heart. This low-dose formulation is often used as an initial therapy or for dose titration, especially in elderly patients or those with hepatic impairment.

Usage Information
Dosage
Initial Dose: 25–50 mg once daily Maintenance Dose: 25–100 mg daily, in single or divided doses as directed Elderly/Hepatic Impairment: Start with 25 mg once daily Administration: Take orally once daily with or without food Missed Dose: Take as soon as remembered. Skip if near next dose. Do not double dose.
