Description:
Bempedoic Acid 180mg is a first-in-class oral lipid-lowering medication used to reduce elevated LDL cholesterol levels in adults with hypercholesterolemia or mixed dyslipidemia. It is particularly effective for patients who are statin-intolerant or require additional LDL-C reduction beyond what statins can achieve.
Bempedoic Acid works by inhibiting ATP citrate lyase (ACL), an enzyme upstream of HMG-CoA reductase in the cholesterol biosynthesis pathway. Unlike statins, it is a prodrug activated only in the liver, minimizing muscle-related side effects. It is often used alone or in combination with other lipid-lowering therapies such as ezetimibe or statins to provide an additive cholesterol-lowering effect.

Usage Information
Dosage
Take one 180mg tablet once daily, with or without food. Take at the same time each day. Do not crush or chew the tablet. Follow your healthcare provider's cholesterol-lowering plan, including diet and exercise.
