Composition:

Leflunomide 10mg

Indication:

Used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis to reduce inflammation, relieve symptoms, and slow disease progression.

Description:

Leflunomide 10 mg is a Disease-Modifying Anti-Rheumatic Drug (DMARD) used to treat rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis. It works by inhibiting dihydroorotate dehydrogenase, an enzyme essential for DNA synthesis in activated T-cells, thus reducing autoimmune inflammation. The 10 mg dosage may be used for dose titration, maintenance therapy, or in patients who cannot tolerate higher doses.

Usage Information

Dosage

Typical adult dose: 10 mg once daily or as directed by the physician May be used in step-down therapy or in combination with other DMARDs Swallow whole with or without food Monitoring of liver function and blood counts is recommended regularly

Common: Diarrhea, nausea, mild liver enzyme elevation Less common: Rash, dizziness, fatigue, mild respiratory symptoms Serious: Liver damage, bone marrow suppression, interstitial lung disease (rare)
