This combination is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic and antiparasitic medication used for the treatment of intestinal worm infestations, including roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, threadworms, and strongyloides, as well as ectoparasitic infestations like scabies and head lice.
Albendazole works by inhibiting microtubule synthesis in parasitic worms, leading to energy depletion and death of the parasite.
Ivermectin acts by binding to glutamate-gated chloride channels, paralyzing and eliminating parasites.
This combination ensures comprehensive parasite elimination, especially in mixed helminthic and ectoparasitic infections.
