Description:
Roxithromycin 150mg is a macrolide antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections affecting the respiratory tract, skin, and soft tissues. It works by inhibiting protein synthesis in susceptible bacteria, thereby stopping their growth and preventing the spread of infection.
It is especially effective against Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, and Mycoplasma species, making it a preferred choice for tonsillitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis, sinusitis, and skin infections. Roxithromycin is known for its excellent tissue penetration and a long half-life, allowing twice-daily dosing.
