Description:

Cefuroxime 500 mg + Clavulanic Acid 125 mg is a combination antibiotic that combines Cefuroxime, a second-generation cephalosporin, and Clavulanic Acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor. This formulation is designed to treat a broad spectrum of bacterial infections, including those caused by resistant organisms.

  • Cefuroxime works by disrupting bacterial cell wall synthesis, effectively inhibiting bacterial growth. It is particularly active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

  • Clavulanic Acid prevents bacterial resistance by inhibiting beta-lactamase enzymes that some bacteria produce to resist cephalosporins.

This combination is commonly used to treat respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, skin infections, and sinusitis, among others.
