Description:
Cefuroxime 500 mg is a broad-spectrum second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat a variety of moderate to severe bacterial infections. It is effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
The tablet contains Cefuroxime Axetil, an oral prodrug that converts into active Cefuroxime in the body. It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, ultimately leading to the death of the bacteria.
Cefuroxime 500 mg is commonly prescribed for lower respiratory tract infections, bronchitis, pneumonia, sinusitis, urinary tract infections, gonorrhea, skin infections, and tonsillitis.
