Description:
Clarithromycin 500 mg is a macrolide antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections affecting the respiratory tract, skin, ears, and stomach. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, effectively stopping bacterial growth.
Clarithromycin is commonly prescribed for:
Pharyngitis and tonsillitis
Acute and chronic bronchitis
Community-acquired pneumonia
Sinusitis
Skin and soft tissue infections
Helicobacter pylori infections (in combination for peptic ulcers)
It is available in oral tablet form and is typically taken twice daily, with or without food.

Usage Information
Dosage
Usual adult dose: 500 mg twice daily (every 12 hours) H. pylori regimen: 500 mg twice daily in combination with other drugs (e.g., amoxicillin and proton pump inhibitors) Duration: 7–14 days depending on infection type Swallow with water. Do not skip doses.
